EMPOWERING THE WORLD WITH HIGH-QUALITY, HIGH-IMPACT CARBON REMOVAL.

There are lots of emerging technologies out there to try to remove CO₂ from the atmosphere, but no one really knows how effective they are. Vycarb's approach fully quantifies how much CO₂ is removed and stored in water to ensure that climate solutions are real, safe, and effective.

TECHNOLOGY

Critical Need
Billions of tons of carbon dioxide can be removed from the environment by applying alkaline materials to water and soils. Current application methods, however, cannot be done at scale, and lack reliable verification tools. A new technology to measure and verify the efficacy of alkalinity at scale—which offset purchasers and regulatory agencies require—and deploy the practice to advance ecosystem health, is critically needed.

Technology Vision
Vycarb is developing the most trusted, low-cost and rapidly-scalable carbon removal technology with a new approach that combines novel carbon analytics with robotics, infrastructure, and water management. Vycarb’s product removes carbon dioxide from water, stores stabilized carbon as inert non-gas forms dissolved in water, measures exactly how much carbon was removed, and does it in a low-cost product that can go anywhere. Vycarb’s application approach targets ecosystems where high carbon dioxide harms local ecology, and can drive fast, high-volume carbon dioxide removal, providing both near-term and long-term solutions to ecologies and global climate change.

Potential for Impact
By coupling novel measurement technology to ecologically restorative alkalinity application, Vycarb is creating climate solutions that achieve both climate change adaptation and mitigation and can scale to billion-ton carbon dioxide removal. Carbon dioxide removal projects requiring field-based measurements can leverage Vycarb’s low-cost, reliable measurement device to demonstrate effective climate change mitigation, creating high-value carbon offsets. Vycarb’s own deployment will improve ecosystem health and quality to advance climate resilience and adaptation.
